On Track for 25 EH/s: HIVE’s Bold Vision for 2025

As we approach the midpoint of 2025, HIVE continues to accelerate its transformative growth plan and is achieving major milestones ahead of schedule.

In May, fueled by rapid expansion in Paraguay, HIVE surpassed 10 Exahash per second (EH/s) in global Bitcoin mining capacity, and achieved a 58% month-over-month increase in peak hashrate, climbing from 6.6 EH/s in April to 10.4 EH/s in May.

At HIVE, hashrate is our heartbeat. But what exactly is an exahash and why is it important?

An exahash (EH) is a unit of computing power that equals one quintillion (10¹⁸) hashes per second. It is used to measure the hash rate of cryptocurrency mining networks like Bitcoin.

To put 10 EH/s into perspective:

At current network difficulty, HIVE now generates over 4.5 Bitcoin per day. This figure is expected to increase as we continue to scale. Our targets are:

  • 18 EH/s this summer, producing more than 8 BTC per day
  • 25 EH/s by Q4, producing more than 12 BTC per day

Powered by Clean Energy

Our expansion in Paraguay is powered by renewable energy from the Itaipu Dam, the largest hydroelectric dam in the western hemisphere. Once fully operational, we aim to produce 3% of global Bitcoin output.

  • Energy Efficiency: Mining consumes large amounts of energy. HIVE benefits from low-cost, clean hydroelectric power that gives us a major advantage.
  • Miner Profitability: The more hashrate a miner controls, the more Bitcoin it can produce. HIVE currently contributes over 1% of the global network and aims to reach 3% by the end of 2025.
